RMD Kwikform Australia is supplying formwork and falsework solutions to the $1.88 Billion Gateway Upgrade Project, consisting of 20km of road and a duplicate of the original Gateway Bridge. RMD Kwikform Australia has sourced and supplied 1000 tonnes of material for what will be the largest bridge and road project in the history of Queensland.
The challenge has been to continually provide significant engineering resources and support at very short notice, from designing simple formwork schemes to major soffit projects. A prime example of this was the development and introduction of a Superslim Anchor Plate that is being utilised in single sided formwork applications. This wasn’t the only first for Australia on this project, the introduction of the largest Minima panels, imported for the first time to Australia especially for this build. Equipment has been supplied on a mixed hire and sale basis.
Perhaps most pleasing is the level of customer service and satisfaction in RMD Kwikform Australia’s ability to source the equipment needed for this project from a hire fleet that is currently seeing unprecedented demand.
This project represents a continuation of the relationship RMD Kwikform Australia has had with both parties involved in the Leighton Abigroup Joint Venture that was formed solely for this undertaking. The Gateway Upgrade Project will be opened in stages and in full use in mid 2010.
